MAYBE I’M AMAZED

The look of wonder must show on my face

But it is something that I can’t prevent

For this tiny bundle I hold in my arms

Must surely be heaven sent

Tiny fingers on tiny hands

Holding my finger so tight

The bluest of eyes that look at me

Shining oh so bright

Maybe I’m amazed

At this tiny person I hold

So perfectly formed in every way

And only 10 minutes old

Maybe I’m amazed

That I could be so happy

Even at the thought of changing

The really smelly nappy

Maybe I’m amazed

That God could be so kind

To send me this little angel

For me to leave the past behind

All the pain suffered was worth it

Just to feel this pleasure inside

Thanks to this little angel

I can forget all the times I cried
