My memories at Avondale written by Lauren Reilly

New Brighton by Rachel Clark

Rachel Clark and Danielle Ashcroft aged 8 of Liverpool

Under water

When I go to the baths

I get changed and jump in the pool

But my head goes underwater

And I get the shivers

Until I get used to it

Then I feel Lovely and warm

When the teacher tells us to get out

I begin to feel very cold

My skin is covered with Goosebumps

So I run into the changing cubical

Wrap my towel around me

To make me feel cosy and warm.

Leaving the swimming baths is the worst

When our class has to walk back to school

All getting cold again

I do not like it much

And can not wait to get back to class

So I can again feel lovely and warm.

The street

I walk down the street,
And pass the houses,
I hear my feet,
And I scrape my trousers.
On my street,
Every house has a garden,
The grass is neat,
That's my street.

These two poems were sent in by Lauren Reilly. Thanks Lauren.

Maths

“Ok, so it’s not rocket science,
To know how to do a bit of maths,
But it feels like I’m lost on a long road,
with hundreds and millions of paths.”

“Miss, can I do some different work?
I’d really rather have play-time,
what, you say I have to do it?
I just want to have fun, is that a crime?”

“Yes, Yes I know what you mean,
It’s all part of the rules,
but I want to go home and do other things,
and not come to stupid little schools.”

“I hate work and boring school,
I want to go and watch TV,
No! please Miss, This is boring,
I don’t want to do P.E!”

My memories at Avondale written by Lauren Reilly
I'll always remember the good times we had,
And maybe even the sad times and bad.
I'll be feeling quite nervous on the very last day,
But I’ll also be excited and happy in a way.

          I'll remember the classrooms,
         And teachers and hall,
       And all my good friends,
        And this very good school.
Thank you all the staff ,
You have been a good friend,
But it's time for our Avondale school days to end.
     I'll have lots of memories,
   I'll remember it all,
  Thank you Dear Avondale,
You're the number one school.

New Brighton By Rachel Clark

New Brighton is a really nice place,

All the tourists think it’s “ace”.

Fort Perch Rock is a tourist attraction,

They all have a good reaction.

The arcades are so much fun,

You get your Hot dogs in a bun.

Marine lake is where you go crabbing,

You need to watch, the  crabs don’t nabbing.

All the kids climb on the rocks,

They take off their shoes and socks.

You watch all the boats go past,

Sometimes they are going really fast.

You go on the beach and jump in puddles,

The dogs get in great big muddles.

So that’s what New Brighton is like,

But watch out the hill’s are a big hike.
