The woman who lives here is a very private woman however she allowed me to take a few photos of her home. I hope you enjoy seeing them.

On the 12th August 2002 Jayne, Rachel and I visited a lady at 10 Admiral Grove in The Dingle area of Liverpool. It is known by Beatles fans as the house where Richard Starkey i.e. Ringo Starr grew up. She is a sweet natured lady who did her utmost to make us feel at home. She told us that she has lived in the house for about 25 years and that she used to live 2 doors down at number 12. She moved there when the houses were taken over by a development company who modernized the street. She had known Richard as a child but had not, as a book, which has just been written and been dedicated to her, babysat him. The house itself is different since Ringo lived there. When he lived there. There was no bathroom and the kitchen was very small and faced the staircase. It had a very small back yard and basically had two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs.

Now it has been made bigger with the houses that backed onto the house being knocked down. As we walked into the vestibule we could see that it now has a good-sized kitchen and a garden too. 'The development company built extensions for the kitchen to be in and what was the kitchen is now a bathroom'. We were later told. We were asked where we came from because she has had visitors from around the globe. Some kiss the wall as they enter and some shake with excitement. Japanese tourists will not even enter the house due to shyness and respect. 'I'm not a Beatles fan' She told us, 'I prefer Elvis' as if we could not guess by the Elvis clock that adorns her wall over the fireplace. She told us that various Beatles people bring people to see her and that she never allows anyone upstairs. After all it is still her house, not Ringo's. Walking into her house you see it is full of Teddy Bears, Dolls and ornaments, of which most of them were gifts given to her by people who come again and again, year after year.
